Pete Doherty Joins Tattoo Hall of Shame

There is no way this guy’s afraid of needles. A UK newspaper claims that Pete Doherty now has the word “Waste” tattooed on his rear after he stopped the artist mid-procedure from completing his intended inking, the word “Wasteland.” Supposedly, Doherty succumbed to the pain. We’ll take this one with a grain of salt, but let’s take it nonetheless.

Daily Star reports (via NME/Gloustershire.co.uk) that Doherty’s aborted tattoo was meant to reference both his new solo album Grace/Wastelands and the famous T.S. Eliot poem “The Waste Land.” What was meant to be a poetic tribute has become an unfortunate body label for the famously drug-addled rocker.

Now all he needs is a tattoo next to his mouth that says “Smoke.”
