Ray LaMontagne Unveils “For The Summer” + “The Devil’s In The Jukebox”

Next week, Ray LaMontagne’s latest album, God Willin’ & The Creek Don’t Rise — his first full-length on RCA without producing help from Ethan Johns— will be released, but as of today, you can hear 3 cuts from the 10-track LP, legally and free of charge. The first song, “Beg Steal Or Borrow,” has been streaming since June, and now Stereogum has premiered the closing track, “The Devil’s In The Jukebox,” a foot-stomping jam with cutting harmonica interludes a la “Henry Nearly Killed Me (It’s A Shame),” while Amazon has a free download of “For The Summer,” which invokes Neil Young’s “Old Man” in the intro (almost to the note) before telling a much different story.

Hear Ray LaMontagne and the Pariah Dogs’ “Beg Steal Or Borrow” below or here, “The Devil’s In The Jukebox” here, and (my favorite of the three) “For The Summer” here. **Update: The album is now available to stream in full here.
