In one of the best scenes from the 1967 film Don’t Look Back, a classic documentary that follows Bob Dylan’s 1965 UK tour, Scottish folk star Donovan visits the poet laureate of rock in a hotel room, performs an innocuous little ditty and is then promptly upstaged by Dylan’s great “It’s All Over Now, Baby Blue.” The significance of the scene to Dylan’s ambitions, Donovan’s perceived humiliation, and other subjects has been debated for years, but in a new interview featured on the Blu-ray edition of the film (below), director D.A. On September 21, Karen Elson will release the second single off her debut LP, The Ghost Who Walks, via iTunes and on 7” vinyl through Third Man Records. While the A-side will be (one of my faves) “The Truth Is In The Dirt,” the flip side features Elson’s previously unreleased cover of 1966 Donovan single “Season of the Witch.” Preceding this release, however, Elson will make her late-night TV debut on the Late Show with David Letterman (you know, that show her husband performed on last night).

Though we’ll have to wait a month to hear the studio rendition of “Season of the Witch,” the song has been sung by Elson live numerous times, most notably during a pro-shot full concert at Third Man in the spring. Check out that version, as well as a live video of Elson channeling Sandy Denny’s version of Jackson C. Frank’s “Milk and Honey” for good measure, below:

Australian singer/songwriter Ben Lee married actress Ione Skye today in a traditional Hindu ceremony in India today. Skye, 38, is most famous for her role in 1989’s Say Anything as Diane Court; she’s also the daughter of the 1960s Scottish singer Donovan, ex-girlfriend of Anthony Kiedis, and ex-wife of Beastie Boy Adam Horowitz.

Contact Music reports the ceremony was presided over by Lee’s spiritual advisor, Sakthi Narayani Amma, who has been close to Lee ever since his 2003 split with actress Claire Danes. Lee most recently posted a John Lennon cover on YouTube.

Just for fun, here’s a video of Bob Dylan showing up Skye’s father in 1967:
