Watch: Sondre Lerche - “Domino” (Live @ SXSW)

A full recap with videos, photos, and more from today’s Waynestock 2011 party in Austin is on the way for next week, but here’s a teaser in the meantime: Sondre Lerche unleashing a solo-electric take on his new song “Domino,” shot on the fly by David of Rawkblog. Every band was amazing today and it was truly an incredible honor to have them perform for us. Stay tuned for more raves on stunning sets by LA Font, ARMS, Ravens & Chimes, Little Scream, Scott Bartenhagen, Pepper Rabbit, and Sondre Lerche — almost all of whom unveiled new material (!) — shortly.

As David Lynch would say, “Good Day Today”: Now that we’ve revealed where everybody in Austin should be on Thursday during the week of SXSW, here’s a little (read: huge) event for the weekend…

Our friends at Antiquiet, Consequence of Sound, Rock it Out Blog!, and Some Kind of Awesome have formed some kind of a blog Voltron (note the rad poster by Skwerl above) with TwentyFourBit and the awesome folks at Knuckle Rumbler for a free unofficial day party on Saturday, March 19. And speaking of Jack White’s bands, two Raconteurs are among the amazing lineup, performing alongside Craig Fox in the newly reformed Greenhornes.

Here’s the lineup for The Rumbler Lounge at 402 E. 6th Street: The Greenhornes, A Place To Bury Strangers, P.O.S. & Astronautalis, The Gay Blades, Hollerado, Jukebox The Ghost, The Silent Comedy, Dirty Ghosts, Fences, Le Butcherettes, Sabrosa Purr, Ezra Furman & The Harpoons, God-Des & She.

More details to come, but if you’re “ready for action” you will want to RSVP ASAP.

The poster above was created by the wonderful Traci Larson.

A few moons ago, Jim Morrison appeared to me in a dream and said that 24B should team up with one of our pals for our first-ever day party in Austin during the week of SXSW. Well, lo and behold, Rawkblog had the same dream…

Mark your calendars, Austin, Texas-bound readers, for Thursday, March 17 is when said unofficial party, Waynestock, becomes a reality. With the help of our sponsors, Etnies, thinkThin, and Origami Vinyl, festivities will begin at 12 p.m. — complete with free beer (while it lasts), free thinkThin protein bars, and free shirts from Etnies. The lineup w/ set times:

12 Noon: LA Font
1: Scott Bartenhagen
2: Little Scream
3: Ravens & Chimes
4: Pepper Rabbit
5: ARMS
6: Sondre Lerche

Join the party and RSVP on Facebook, or catch live Twitter updates from the show via @waynestockSXSW, @TwentyFourBit, and @DaveRawkblog. Plus, stay tuned here for more coverage in the coming weeks. More posts are on the way about a few of these artists, but you can get acquainted with our lineup in the meantime via the collection of videos below (also, via a Rawkblog-curated mixtape).

Any music fan planning to be nearb Quincy, Washington this Memorial Day weekend may want to take a look at today’s lineup announcement for the Sasquatch! Festival at the Gorge. We knew, of course, that the recently reunited Pavement would be headlining at least one night at the scenic ampitheatre, but that’s only the tip of the iceberg, as we now know My Morning Jacket, LCD Soundsystem, the New Pornographers, (recent TwentyFourBit fav) Laura Marling, Camera Obscura, MGMT, Ween, Tegan and Sara, and loads more of some of the best acts around today are also set to take the Sasquatch! stage.

I guess that explains why their website is down! Good thing somebody jotted down the full list before the Sasquatch servers disappeared into the wood.

In other festival announcement news, we mentioned some notable films premiering at SXSW in Austin, Texas previously, but their main focus is, you know, music and stuff. Whereas SXSW’s epic lineup has been known for awhile, the real hard part is figuring who/what/when/where/how to catch all these awesome acts. Enter the full SXSW 5-day schedule.

The annual South by Southwest Music, Film, and Interactive Festival will descend upon Austin, Texas in almost exactly one month from tonight, but aside from a few über-hyped projects, the full film screening list wasn’t fully known until yesterday’s announcement.

Though our recent rummaging through the Sundance Film Fest roster proved notably fruitful, SXSW’s lineups kind of pwned it in a way, offering quite the competitive array of music and/or musician-related films for us to ogle.

Now we could spit out a whole post for every single one of these, but that’s not how I roll, so let’s just throw the hand on the table, kids:
