Kevin Barnes, the man behind Of Montreal, revealed to Rolling Stone, the formation of a side project collaboration with MGMT’s Andrew VanWyngarden called Blikk Fang. He is also in talks with producer du jour Jon Brion on possibly twiddling the knobs for the “pretty schizophrenic, crazy album.”
Barnes told RS, “We’ve actually created about 20 minutes of music, but that was the early part of last year…When we get together again, we’ll have different ideas that we’re excited about. The stuff we’ve done so far is sort of a soulful prog.”
He also talks about the next Of Montreal album, saying he wants it to sound like music he heard in a cab in London that made him, “queasy but in a totally different level. It just haunted me…”
