Benazir Bhutto´s Daughter Pays Tribute Via Rap Song

Late Pakistani Prime Minster Benazir Bhutto’s daughter, Bakhtawar, has written a rap song memorializing her mother’s remarkable life and posted it on YouTube:

“I’ve got a few things to say to you / I never got the chance to say,” writes the teenager in “I Would Take the Pain Away.”  She recounts her mother’s assassination: “Despite that threat she went and stayed there / October 17th, still strong / Two bomb blasts stopping the throng / Three million around to meet you….You were all in their hearts / Millions, they all fell apart” and offers references to Bhutto’s character: “To us you were unstoppable… the epitome of benevolence.”

Farahnaz Ispahani, a spokesman for Bhutto’s Pakistan People’s Party and a friend of the Bhutto family, said Bakhtawar had captured much of the nation’s grief in her song, reports MSNBC. The profound track, with a video montage of photographs, can be heard on YouTube or below:
