Lars Ulrich Speaks Out on Video Hold-Up Rumors: It´s Not Me, It´s Axl

Last year, an associate to Guns n’ Roses told fans Lars Ulrich was refusing to sign a release for his appearance in the Guns n’ Roses video for “Better,” but today Ulrich has spoken out about the accusation.

“There was a couple of clips of me in the video and they asked if I would sign off on it. When it got to me, I signed off on the one clip… I don’t know where [the rumor] came from,” Ulrich told Rolling Stone.

The video is at least a month overdue, as Axl has told fans it was “one week away” back in December. It is unclear to what extent Ulrich is denying the rumor as his quote only mentions his signing off on one clip but also acknowledges there is more than one clip in question.

The clip Lars signed off on was likely the one he describes to Rolling Stone. “There’s a shot of me and Axl embracing backstage at some concert, and I signed off that, and hopefully it’ll make it in the final cut,” he said.

Either way, Guns n’ Roses fans were patient enough for Chinese Democracy’s 15-year delay, so a few months probably won’t hurt them.
