King Tut Caught with Cocaine in Teddy Bear, Allegedly Attempts Murder After Release

A strange and tragic story is brewing out of Hackensack, New Jersey today surrounding rapper King Tut. On Wednesday morning, King Tut, aka Darnell Brittingham, was arrested when police found a half-ounce of cocaine inside of a teddy bear that was allegedly Brittingham’s. Other illegal drugs and a digital scale were also found in his car, leading police to charge both Brittingham and another passenger, Brandon Buckley, with manufacturing/distribution or intent to manufacture/distribute a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Yesterday, Brittingham was released from New Jersey’s Bergen County Prison after posting $25k bail. Hours later he allegedly stabbed an unidentified woman seven times. SOHH reports Brittingham is currently at large and wanted by police for alleged attempted murder.

HipHopDX notes that King Tut is currently unsigned, but he has been affiliated with Dipset, a group that includes rappers Jim Jones and Cam’ron.
