All it took was Steven Soderbergh’s casting of 21-year-old pornstar Sasha Grey in an art house flick and Rolling Stone has their best excuse yet to sell sex, boasting that celebrity feature writer Vanessa Grigoriadis has “jumped into Grey’s wild world for a profile.”
In order to promote the article, Grigoriadis has decided a comparison is in order between Taylor Swift, the 19-year-old subject of her last RS cover story, and Grey, who is co-managed by Jane’s Addiction’s Dave Navarro.
“There’s some interesting comparisons there about two women [Swift and Grey] who are incredibly precocious for their ages and really driven, ambitious and also really sure that their point of view is the right one, and that what they are doing is liberating for women,” Grigroriadis said, in an online teaser for her article. “Both of them are very clear that they think that what they’re doing [is feminist], even though Sasha’s case is completely different than Taylor’s.”
