Welsh crooner Tom Jones is making a stab at appealing to the younger generation of late, with Kings of Leon shout-outs (“that kid can sing”), headlining festival slots (check out Jones’ interview with CoS at Outside Lands), and now a possible collaboration with The Killers.
“I went to see The Killers a couple of weeks ago in Hyde Park in London,” Jones said (via Derby Telegraph), “and they were saying that they live in Las Vegas and that they’ve got a recording studio here so they said if we’re ever in Vegas at the same time perhaps we could do something in the recording studio.”
It’s not unusual for The Killers to reach out to their predecessors, but the Vegas connection makes this possible team-up something special, IMO. Plus, perhaps this dates me, but part of me would kill to see Brandon Flowers do the Carlton dance.
