Duffy Records LP2 w/ Questlove, Albert Hammond Sr.

DuffyJay Leno, Conan O’Brien, and Jimmy Fallon’s jobs at NBC might be a big ol’ question mark at this hour, but the Roots/Late Night with Jimmy Fallon drummer Questlove has already lined up at least one safety net gig. Welsh singer Duffy is in the middle of a 3-week NYC recording session for her second album with Questlove, aka ?uestlove, and the Strokes guitarist Albert Hammond Jr.’s father Albert Hammond… Sr.!

Reuters reports that Questlove, born Ahmir Thompson, and Hammond, who wrote “To All the Girls I’ve Loved Before” (?!), have already laid down early material that “feels like it was born in 1963.”

Perhaps I’ll come around to Duffy at some point, but, for now, let’s root for this project in the name of Questlove and Albert Hammond’s dad, so long as he stays out of the Strokes’ way while the boys have a tiger by the tail.
