Memphis-based rocker Jay Lindsey, aka Jay Reatard, was found dead in his home at around 3:30 this morning, Commercial Appeal reports. He was only 29 years old.
Lindsey’s former label Goner Records has also confirmed the report in the following post on their official site:
It is with great sadness that we report the passing of our good friend Jay Reatard. Jay died in his sleep last night. We will pass along information about funeral arrangements when they are made public.
According to Commercial Appeal, police have opened an investigation into Lindsey’s death, as no official cause of death has been released at this time.
