Link Bits: Elton John, Tegan & Sara, Johnny Depp…

Some bits before I go…

  • Oh, Butch Walker. I was on the fence with this one, but your work on Neko Case’s cartoon pilot was so hilarious that suddenly this please-make-me-viral video with Panic! at the Disco singer Brendon Urie has aged quite well (like wine or a fine cheese, n’est-ce pas?). Watch Walker and Urie channel American Psycho thataway.
  • Not sure why Tegan and Sara’s new music video to “Alligator” keeps getting taken down, but catch it here while the suits allow.
  • Sir Elton John: “I think Jesus was a compassionate, super-intelligent gay man who understood human problems. On the cross, he forgave the people who crucified him. Jesus wanted us to be loving and forgiving. I don’t know what makes people so cruel. Try being a gay woman in the Middle East — you’re as good as dead.”
  • When Johnny Depp isn’t busy making Keith Richards docs, charity singles with Nick Cave, or playing his steel guitar, he will be narrating a Doors documentary at a theater (most likely not) near you.
  • Finally, Kathleen Hanna’s amazing.
