On Later with Jools Holland last Friday night, Laura Marling sang all three of the songs from I Speak Because I Can that we’ve been raving about since December: “Goodbye England (Covered in Snow),” “Devil’s Spoke,” and “Rambling Man.” As with every artist who’s had the bravery to let producer/drummer/TwentyFourBit fave Ethan Johns record their performances straight to tape, Marling sounds just as (if not more) stunning live on stage as in the studio.
As it turns out, my favorite performance on Jools Holland’s program was also my favorite cut from the record, “Goodbye England (Covered in Snow).” Check out Marling’s flawless rendition of the tune below, as well as her other two segments on the show here and here.
