We’ve been following various side projects by Sonic Youth’s Thurston Moore, Kim Gordon, and Lee Ranaldo extensively, but have neglected to mention their drummer’s new band: The High Confessions include SY’s Steve Shelley on the skins, Chris Connelly (Minstry, Revolting Cocks, Killing Joke), Sanford Parker (Minsk, Nachtmystium, Buried At Sea), and recording engineer Jeremy Lemos (Smog, Stereolab, Jim O’Rourke).
Their debut LP, Turning Lead Into Gold With The High Confessions, isn’t due out until July 20th on Relapse Records, but you can now preview their so-called “swirling, ominous, droning post-rock” via the excellent new song “Chlorine and Crystal” on MySpace.
