Ever since watching Andrew Bird and Priscilla Ahn’s gorgeous take on “Meet Me Here at Dawn” back in April, I’ve been on a relentless Cass McCombs kick, and this video is only going to make matters worse. As the Tripwire points out, McCombs was joined by a string quartet for an intimate show in L.A. last month, video of which was brilliantly captured by Seth Cuddeback and Eli Gunn-Jones. What’s more, strings for this version of Dropping the Writ track “Windfall” were arranged by none other than Rostam Batmanglij of Vampire Weekend. So yeah, this clip is full of win.
