Given his father’s epic contribution to late 1960s film, the retro cinematography (by David Myrick) for Harper Simon’s new video to “Berkeley Girl” is an even more perfect match for his brand of folk-pop. Starring Into the Wild/Donnie Darko actress-musician Jena Malone and shot on 8mm film in LA’s Echo Park, director Benjamin Kutsko makes an excellent case for revisiting Simon’s self-titled debut above.
