Deerhunter/Atlas Sound’s Bradford Cox continued his December free music streak overnight on his blog by uploading 5 different versions of his brand new holiday original, “Artificial Snow.” It’s a testament to the dark tune about undergoing electroshock therapy on Christmas Eve’s indelible melody and pitch-perfect arrangement that it wasn’t easy to pick just one take from the “Notown,” “No Drums,” Rhythm Mix”, and “Campfire Metallophone” options to stream above. Ultimately, though, I went with the so-called “Bedroom Take,” as it makes for a nice preview before you might download the full collection.
