As much as I do enjoy James Mercer’s falsetto vocals on Broken Bells single “The Ghost Inside,” there’s just something about the cut that’s begging for the parody treatment, be it a Hall & Oates video mash-up or this week’s fun spoof by Danger Mouse’s other bandmate, Cee-Lo Green. Yesterday, Some Kind of Awesome posted “The Ol’ Sauseej,” the self-proclaimed Lady Killer’s playful jab at his old pal Brian Burton’s new duo. The off-the-cuff tune is funny enough, I suppose, but it’s perhaps most notable for Green’s significantly more soothing take on the original’s indelible high-register melody.
