Sondre Lerche Announces Self-Titled 6th Album

Yet another reason to attend our free inaugural Austin day party in a few weeks arrived this morning in the form of great news from a certain Waynestock lineup member: Sondre Lerche has announced his sixth studio album, a self-titled effort co-produced by Kato Ådland and Nicolas Vernhes (who’s recorded Dirty Projectors, Animal Collective, Deerhunter, etc.) due out on June 7 via Mona Records.

In addition to announcing the LP, which Lerche describes as “intimate and intense” with “a stronger purpose” than his previous solo work, Vulture has an interview with the Norway-by-way-of-Brooklyn singer-songwriter, revealing why he chose to go the self-titled route on his 6th record, his plans to perform live with a full band, why he moved to Brooklyn, how his career has evolved thus far, and much more. Give it a read thataway, pre-order the album here, and, you know, come see Lerche perform live on the 17th.
