Former Moldy Peaches guitarist Jack Dishel independently released a solo record as Only Son earlier this year, which has been streaming a bit below the radar on Bandcamp since January, despite the LP’s impressive list of well-known collaborators that include members of the Strokes (Fabrizio and Nikolai), of Montreal, and Regina Spektor. The Spektor duet, “Call Them Brothers,” is particularly notable as it marks her “first time writing a song with someone” and co-stars Daniel Cho, the late cellist who tragically passed away on tour last year and to whom the album is dedicated.
