It may take a second for David Thomas Broughton’s voice — a haunting baritone that recalls Timber Timbre’s Taylor Kirk or Antony, pitch-shifted down an octave — to adjust to your ears, but it’s well worth some patience, as the title track to his new album, Outbreeding, which came out today via Brainlove Records, is a glorious piece of avant-folk.
