8-Bit Radiohead Covers

8 Bit RadioheadWhile this floppy disk released back in 1997 along with Radiohead’s game-changing OK Computer LP only contained a screensaver at the time, we now have the lo-fi equivalent of what that promo item seemed to promise. Thanks to the tireless efforts of QuintonSung, OK Computer and its follow-up, Kid A, have been stripped down to their raw DNA in the form of 8-bit digital covers, from start to finish.

There’s an intriguing novelty to this sort of retro re-imagining, sure, but it’s more than just that: Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood, and Co.’s tunes actually hold up in the format incredibly well. Proof, once again, that great songwriting and musicianship will endure via the technology of any age. Not to mention that, in a weird way, this exercise in fidelity might connect to themes in the first LP itself. Check it out below:\
