T Bone Burnett, Stephen King, and John Mellencamp’s southern gothic musical has been kicking around in various stages for over a decade, but now we get a taste of our most anticipated cut from the set ahead of its summer release. “That’s Who I Am” — a dusty, saloon-ready shuffle produced by Burnett — is the lone Neko Case track on The Ghost Brothers of Darkland County. It’s a fine little gem, even out of context from the musical’s “haunting tale of fraternal love, lust, jealousy and revenge.” Not to mention this tune should help bide our time as Case completes the follow-up to Middle Cyclone, in the works since at least last year.
