We heard Leif Vollebekk’s homage to the Killers’ “Read My Mind” back in February as a bonus track on his North Americana LP, and now that excellent take has arrived alongside 4 more covers cut straight to 2″ tape last summer. Aptly titled Borrowed Time, Vollebekk pays tribute to, as he put it, “five of the loveliest songs I know,” lifting tunes from the canon of Dylan, Neil Young, Beach Boys, and Sigur Rós with live takes backed by talented Montreal musicians Hans Bernhard, Adam Kinner, Philippe Melanson, and Parker Shper.
