New Albany, Indiana’s Houndmouth made their first festival rounds over the summer on the strength of an impressive debut LP, and now comes another rite of passage for the folk-rock quartet: La Blogothèque‘s ‘Take Away Show.’ Much of that series has been filmed at monuments or more shadowy corners of the site’s Paris base, but Houndmouth brought the French team back home, performing a pair of originals and notable covers at their own local quarters. Check out the cover-tune portion above, which features a rousing take on Funkadelic’s “Can You Get To That” followed by an unplugged version of country perennial “Long Black Veil,” both of which thrive on the kind of loosely-knit harmonies that made their first record such a charmer.
