Last week, Alynda Lee Segarra and Sam Doores shared this lovely live preview from Hurray for the Riff Raff’s new LP, Small Town Heroes. Featuring the Deslondes, “St. Roch Blues” memorializes four fallen friends in the name of a canonized Catholic martyr. It’s a more personal turn from the murder ballad pulled from the news in November’s “The Body Electric,” a soulful dirge sang live into a ribbon mic on the alter of a New Orleans chapel.
