The concept behind this live video series from T. Hardy Morris and director Jason Thrasher is impressive, but it’s even better upon execution. Inspired by the Georgia Trust For Historic Preservation’s annual list of Places In Peril, Morris performed each song off his solo debut in abandoned buildings and historic venues in the region. At Traveler’s Rest, for example, they caught a haunting take on “Lucky” with Matt Stoessel and Thayer Sarrano in the early 19th century tavern. This one is from the Ritz Theatre, a 1927 movie theater in Thomaston still hosting new films and other events. Watch Morris play the Audition Tapes cut “Own Worst Enemy” alone onstage above.
