\"RyanA follow-up to 2011’s Ashes & Fire<\/em><\/a> is imminent, but in the meantime, Ryan Adams’ new punk trio just dropped their debut LP.<\/p>\n

First up, here’s the scoop so far on the next solo record. DRA has teamed up again with producer Glyn Johns for a full-length set. There’s no word yet on an official arrival date, but sources say the LP is in the can and awaiting release sometime this year. As for the sound of new material, we have two bits to go by at this stage: Billboard<\/a> caught word of “more orchestral flourishes” than Ashes & Fire<\/em>, while a recent one-off set by Adams at Royal Albert Hall offered a new full-band lineup and some new tunes possibly bound for release. The lineup that night in March suggests an interesting direction, too, as he was joined by past collaborators Benmont Tench and Ethan Johns, as well as Jeremy Stacey on drums with December’s Conan<\/em> collaborators<\/em><\/a>, Don Was and Cindy Cashdollar. One song from the charity set, however, will likely not be making the cut: “Loaf of Bread,” a song Adams hilariously improvised in response to a muffled audience suggestion. \"RyanWe’ll wait with bated breath for more news on that project, but this week does bring a fresh release from Adams & Co. in the form of Pornography, a punk outfit with Leah Hennessey and\u00a0Rock N Roll<\/em>\/The Finger collaborater Johnny T. Yerington. In many ways, their debut, 7 Minutes In Heaven<\/em>, is a new chapter to follow The Finger’s 2003 release. This time, though, Hennessey replaces Jesse Malin and takes on lead vox for the tracks we’ve heard. This week a limited single, “Last Nite at the Opera,” arrived for Record Store Day, and now the whole 7-track effort (plus two bonus cuts) is available<\/a> digitally.
