From Elvis Costello (who teamed with Mumford and Sons for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=-Idt8wqSSeE\" target=\"_blank\">a take<\/a> on the Boss&#8217; own &#8220;The Ghost of Tom Joad&#8221;) to Ed Sheeran doing Bob Dylan&#8217;s great &#8220;Masters of War&#8221;, many of these timeless cuts have been performed in cover song form thus far. That isn&#8217;t the case for Springsteen, though, who broke out 1978&#8217;s\u00a0<em>Darkness on the Edge of Town<\/em> single &#8220;The Promised Land&#8221; with just a harmonica, acoustic guitar, and his voice for a busking take out on a public street this week.
