After years on the shelf, an excellent\u00a0document of performances at the famous Los Angeles\u00a0club Largo has surfaced. Although\u00a0the\u00a0film premiered back in 2008 at the\u00a0L.A.\u00a0Film Festival\u00a0before a short run at other festivals, it’s sat in relative obscurity ever since. Now Largo have shared the eponymous film for free online, featuring a host of notable artists, comedians, and musicians taking advantage of\u00a0the venue’s uniquely\u00a0intimate atmosphere.<\/p>\n

Also of note is that Largo is well-known for the melting pot community of artists it fostered,\u00a0a one-of-a-kind scene Ethan Johns discussed<\/a> at length with us in 2012. Jon Brion — perhaps the most regular guest of the Largo stage — is featured heavily, semi-improvising instrumentals and backing up Fiona Apple for a stirring rendition of (my favorite Fiona cut) “I Know” about 10 minutes in.\u00a0Other performers include comedians Zach Galifianakis Patton Oswalt,Flight of the Conchords, and Louis CK (around the 1-hour mark), as well as musicians Andrew Bird, Nickel Creek, and many more.<\/p>\n
