\"OnceGlen Hansard must be having an amazing year: First up, he has an impressive solo record due next month. Titled\u00a0Rhythm and Repose<\/em>, the 11-track set is Hansard’s first collection of new tunes to be released since the Swell Season’s 2009 LP,\u00a0Strict Joy. <\/em>Speaking of that duo with\u00a0Mark\u00e9ta Irglov\u00e1, the pair just received even more praise for their Oscar-winning work on the film Once, <\/em>as the love story’s new Broadway incarnation,\u00a0Once, The Musical<\/em>, raked in 11 Tony Award nominations this morning.<\/p>\n

Hansard, of course, penned most of the tunes on the original soundtrack for the feature film, including a still-stunning cut that won the Academy Award that year, “Falling Slowly.” For the Broadway version, actor\u00a0Steve Kazee takes on the tune alongside co-star Cristtin Milioti, who plays the character originally portrayed by\u00a0Irglov\u00e1. What’s more, Once, The Musical<\/em>‘s soundtrack was released last month to glowing reviews and raves from fans of the movie, proving once and for all that Hansard’s talents certainly weren’t limited to the onscreen medium.<\/p>\n

With that I think we’ve made our case: When it comes to street-busking singer-songwriters, Hansard is having by far the best 2012 so far. Now’s a good time to revisit his enduring\u00a0Once<\/em>\u00a0material via the musical’s OST. Here’s the tracklist:<\/p>\n
