According to an introduction in that clip, Keys has been hard at work on the record for eight months, writing about the &#8220;empowerment&#8221; and &#8220;freedom&#8221; she&#8217;s felt since giving birth to her first child and marrying producer\/rapper Swizz Beatz.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;re a few spins through &#8220;New Day&#8221; so far, and yeah, it&#8217;s clear this cut is brimming with optimism. It doesn&#8217;t hold back at all, though, as the beat pulses through some heavy emotional undercurrents.
