\"NickWhile we wait for their incredible Lawless<\/em> soundtrack<\/a> to reach theaters later this month, Nick Cave and Warren Ellis have another film project on the way: A Few Hours of Spring<\/em> — an understated new French drama about the relationship between an ex-convict and his mother in the final years of her life — features a “pared-back score” from the longtime\u00a0collaborators, Variety<\/em> reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Lawless<\/em>\u00a0boasts Cave and Ellis pursuing a more traditional song format, which provides both a score to underline key moments as well as tunes performed by them and a notable list of collaborators that stand on their own, but this project promises to be more in line with their subdued work on previous John Hillcoat-direct films and last year’s Days of Grace<\/a><\/em>. Either way, the trailer looks very promising and we can’t help but check out any effort with the Nick Cave stamp of approval.<\/p>\n

A Few Hours of Spring <\/em>will be released in France next month. Though no distribution is planned Stateside as of yet, we’ll keep an eye out for updates on that front. In the meantime, hear a taste of the music and preview the film with the trailer below:<\/p>\n
