After months of speculation, confirmation is finally here that Adele is set to record a theme song to the latest James Bond film,\u00a0Skyfall<\/em>. Following Chris Cornell in Casino Royale<\/em> and the Jack White \/ Alicia Keys contribution to 2008’s Quantum of Solace<\/em>, Adele has landed the coveted spot in the iconic film series’ opening title sequence for the third installment in its Daniel Craig-starring run. News comes via a report by Showbiz411<\/a>‘s\u00a0Roger Friedman, who originally broke the story for Forbes<\/em> magazine earlier this spring.<\/p>\n

As big fans of Jack White’s work<\/a> on the last Bond theme, not to mention of Adele, this sounds like a perfect match. Also, this week’s news puts rumors of other artists to be recruited for Skyfall<\/em> to rest, namely unfounded talk that the late Amy Winehouse had a recording in the works for the project.<\/p>\n

Starring\u00a0Daniel Craig as 007, Javier Bardem as Raoul Silva, and a host of other stars, Skyfall<\/em>\u00a0hits theaters on November 9th in the States. Odds are Adele’s Bond song will be her first official follow-up to her hugely successful 2011 sophomore album, 21<\/em>, so we can’t wait to hear the next step.
