\"HowOver the past year or so, news coming from Trent Reznor has revolved mostly around his lauded film score work and this summer’s\u00a0Call of Duty: Black Ops II<\/em> video game soundtrack, but now comes word that the Nine Inch Nails mastermind’s other band, How To Destroy Angels, are getting back in the game, among other projects: “There’s a number of things to be revealed over the coming months,” he said on Facebook yesterday. “Some you may expect, others you may not. Patience, my friends.”<\/p>\n

First up, How To Destroy Angels revealed the follow-up to their 2010 debut EP<\/a> will arrive in November, while an LP from the group is set for early 2013. Titled An Omen<\/em>, the set will feature 6 more songs (making the list of total officially released tunes a dozen in number, perhaps enough for the full-length). How To Destroy Angels also revealed they are now a quartet comprised of Reznor, Mariqueen Maandig,\u00a0Atticus Ross, and — most recent addition —\u00a0Rob Sheridan, whose visual art has appeared alongside most of Reznor’s recent output, including HTDA.<\/p>\n

In an interesting new direction for Reznor, the band have signed with Columbia Records to release both forthcoming albums, citing “a chance to work with our old friend Mark Williams.” Reznor says a broader explanation is likely on the way for the move into non-self-released music, adding: “Complete independent releasing has its great points but also comes with shortcomings.”<\/p>\n

Further details on HTDA are scant, but we’ll keep an eye out for further updates from the group (and can’t wait to hear about the other projects Reznor has yet to reveal) in the months to come.
