\"ScottThe great Scott Walker revealed the cover art, tracklist, and background info for his new album over the weekend. Titled Bish Bosch, <\/em>the follow-up to 2006’s The Drift<\/em>\u00a0began taking shape three years ago and is now set for release on December 3rd via 4AD Records. As for Walker’s latest step, today’s\u00a0announcement\u00a0emphasizes, “Scott refuses any nostalgia for his earlier achievements.” He seeks to avoid the pitfalls of “so many veteran artists whose career hits a plateau by “refusing the assured standing ovations of the \u2018retread your classic album\u2019 scene, and striking out into consistently difficult terrain.” In the 6 years since his last LP, Walker has not only broken new ground in the songwriting department, but he’s found a new sonic palette as well:<\/p>\n

If The Drift<\/em> was a dark place, full of scorching orchestral textures and ominous rumblings, Bish Bosch<\/em> is a tauter but more colourful experience, with greater emphasis on processed, abrasive guitars, digital keyboards and thick silences.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

A few rather unusual instruments made the cut, too, such as ramshorns, an ancient\u00a0kudu shofar instrument,\u00a0machetes, and a chisel.<\/p>\n

And if that description hasn’t piqued our interest enough (it has), these incredibly song titles (“Corps De Blah”!) should\u00a0certainly\u00a0o the trick. Check out the full tracklist below:<\/p>\n
