\"SilverWe’re always on the hunt for soundtracks featuring artists we’ve championed since the beginning around here, and Silver Linings Playbook<\/em> has done just that with a new, previously unreleased Alabama Shakes song making the cut for the film’s new OST. Directed by David O. Russell as his highly anticipated follow-up to The Fighter<\/em>, the family\/relationship drama comes out next month along with a 14-track soundtrack release that features a dozen tunes plucked for the flick and a pair of original score compositions written specifically for Silver Linings Playbook by Danny Elfman.<\/p>\n

The track that caught our eye most, however, is “Always Alright.” This one didn’t make it on Alabama Shakes<\/a>‘ debut LP, Boys & Girls<\/em>, but has made appearances in the band’s setlists over the past year or so.<\/p>\n

The group is in great company, too, with the likes of Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash’s “Girl From the North Country” duet, and Les Paul\/Mary Ford classic, “My Cherie Amour,” and many other timeless tunes among the tracklist. Emerging UK outfit alt-J landed “Buffalo” for the set — a promising opportunity for a band getting lots of hype beneath the surface in the blogosphere this year.<\/p>\n
