Frightened Rabbit just returned from their tour opening up for Death Cab, during which Scott Hutchison & co. released a tour-only EP featuring a pair of new songs with guest performances by Camera Obscura’s Tracyanne Campbell and folk veteran Archie Fisher. Included on the EP was “Scottish Winds,” a bittersweet ode to their home country that debuted live earlier this summer. Now, as a second show of gratitude to fans for supporting Invisible Children, Hutchison shared an unplugged, riverside take on the tune above.

Meanwhile, FR also joined Meursault’s Neil Pennycook recently for a loose take on Bruce Springsteen’s oft-covered 1984 single “I’m Goin’ Down” thataway.

As a show of gratitude to Frightened Rabbit fans and tourmates Death Cab for Cutie for supporting Invisible Children, a charity organization that works toward bringing peace to Northern Uganda, FR frontman Scott Hutchison has shared a touching cover of his favorite Death Cab tune: 2005 Plans cut “Different Names for the Same Thing.”

“I almost tried to ‘countrify’ the song, as it has such a strong beautiful melody,” he said. “It’s a very simple song at its core, so I just stuck with that basic structure and let it be plaintive and sad.” Watch Hutchison’s riverside performance above.
