Paul McCartney wasn’t the only artist last week to pay tribute to John Lennon in recognition of the anniversary of the ex-Beatle’s tragic death: Jeff Tweedy joined Wilco bandmates John Stirratt and Pat Sansone’s band the Autumn Defense in Charlottesville, Virginia — 30 years to the day after Lennon was murdered — for a brilliant rendition of iconic Plastic Ono Band song “God.” The video quality isn’t great, but you can hear Tweedy absolutely nail the original vocal (no easy feat) above. There was one key lyric change, however: “I just believe in me / Wilco and me.”
