Arctic Monkeys’ Alex Turner to Release Submarine Soundtrack

Alex Turner’s first solo outing will get an official release this March, as his record label, Domino Records, have confirmed to HitFix that the Arctic Monkeys frontman’s soundtrack to director Richard Ayoade’s film Submarine will arrive digitally under his own name on the 14th of that month in the U.K. While further details, including a stateside drop date, have yet to be announced, we do know that producer/Simian Mobile Disco member James Ford assisted in the effort, which will likely include the stripped-down, piano/acoustic guitar-backed tunes that appear in the movie: “Stuck on the Puzzle,” “Hiding Tonight,” “Glass in the Park,” “It’s Hard to Get Around the Wind,” and “Piledriver Waltz.”

Meanwhile, Turner and his mission of angular-rock monkeys are hard at work on their follow-up to Humbug, which will also enlist the help of Ford to man the boards, while Turner’s other project, The Last Shadow Puppets, are plotting a sophomore effort, according to co-frontman Miles Kane.
