Jay-Z Says New Obama Song About Women and Children

Jay-Z unveiled his new song “History” at the Pre-Inauguration Ball in Washington, D.C. on Monday. In an interview with MTV, the newlywed rapper explains the song, saying victory and history are personified as a woman and a child.

“You know, if you listen to the record it’s pretty much talking about trying to find victory, victory being a woman, and so me and victory can make a kid – the kid being history, and then history tells your legacy. It’s deep but it’s fun. It’s not really that complicated,” Jay-Z said.

Hova sings:

“Now victory is mine, it tastes so sweet / She’s my trophy wife, you’re coming with me / We’ll have a baby who stutters repeatedly / We’ll name him history, he’ll repeat after me / He’s my legacy, son of my hard work / Future of my past, he’ll explain who I be.”
