The Stooges Snubbed by Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for the Seventh Time

The Stooges have been nominated for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame seven times since they first became eligible. Ron Asheton’s tragic death last week didn’t help the rock legend’s band outbid the Hall’s 2009 picks, which were announced today and include Metallica, Run-DMC, and Jeff Beck.

Other inductees include singer Bobby Womack, former Elvis band members Bill Black and D.J. Fontana, and pianist Spooner Oldham (no, he isn’t Will Oldham’s father).
