Performing material from his iconic Astral Weeks album, Van Morrison is set to perform for the first episode of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on March 2nd. NBC says the other guest for Fallon’s first show is Robert De Niro, an actor who has very rarely appeared on talk shows.
As we previously reported, Fallon’s house band, the Roots, are writing 200 original songs for the interludes of the show because NBC was unwilling to pay for the publishing rights for the band to play cover songs. Roots drummer ?uestlove says that the band have already written 55 short songs for Late Night.
