Mickey Rourke’s Next Project: Country Music Video

After Mickey Rourke made his triumphant Oscar-nominated return to the Hollywood spotlight in The Wrestler, the actor could’ve had his choice of almost any project. Although he did reportedly ink a lucrative spot in the Iron Man sequel, that blockbuster movie role will not be his follow-up to playing Randy ‘The Ram’ Robinson. Instead, Rourke will appear in a music video for country music star John Rich.

EW reports that Rourke will join singer/actor Kris Kristofferson for a cameo in John Rich’s “Shuttin’ Detroit Down” video. Scenes for the upcoming CMT hit were filmed last week and the video will likely drop before Rich’s album Son of a Preacher Man comes out next week.

The last time Mickey Rourke appeared in a music video was for Enrique Iglesias’ 2001 hit “Hero,” with Jennifer Love Hewitt.
