Bono, Madonna, Snoop Dogg Cameo Song for Brüno?

It’s obviously a bit difficult to separate the real and fake news on a day like today, but numerous sources (all UK publications, unfortch) are reporting that a bunch of music stars have recorded a spoof of 1984’s Band Aid, including Bono, Chris Martin, Madonna, Elton John, Sting, Snoop Dogg and The Village People (sans the police officer, of course). The song was recorded as part of Sacha Baron Cohen’s Borat follow-up, Brüno: Delicious Journeys Through America for the Purpose of Making Heterosexual Male.

The Playlist reports (via Daily Mirror and a couple other tabloids) the tune, titled “Doves Of Peace,” includes this lyric: “For people of Africa who live in hell/They will never wear Chanel.”

It sure sounds too good to be true, but we just found that Ain’t It Cool News actually broke part of this story three weeks ago, after attending a Brüno screening. At the end of their review, they posted this teaser: “P.S…..ready for this? Bono, Coldplay, Elton John and Snoop Dogg sing his Charity single at the end….G-E-N-I-U-S!!!!!!!!”

Okay, we’ll bite.
