In which Dan Bejar and friends perform the smooth, saxophone/trumpet-laced Kaputt jam “Downtown” on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, proving once and for all that the magic of this late ’70s/ early ’80s-inspired gem isn’t limited to the studio. Some late-night appearances feel a bit distracted by the format and occasionally less inspired, but Destroyer’s television debut is not one of them.
