Lily & Madeleine are sisters from Indianapolis whose session clip for “In the Middle” was upvoted on Reddit enough times this January to catch the ears of Sufjan Stevens. Now they share a label with Sufjan, Asthmatic Kitty, and have a self-titled debut due on October 29th. March’s The Weight of the Globe EP was a fine introduction to their knack for memorable folk melodies, but take in the self-aware precociousness of “Devil We Know” above, where the pair earn even greater promise.
