Earlier today, Volcano Choir revealed another piece of their sophomore LP finished up at Justin Vernon’s snowbound Wisconsin studio over the winter. Following June’s rousing single, “Byegone,” comes another slow-building cut with a swatch of new sonic colors woven in, namely bits of digital percussion and Vernon breaking out his Bon Iver falsetto/auto-tune move on the chorus swells. Suffice to say considering the 3-week wait for Repave feels like an eternity right now, this record is shaping up beautifully.
