We saw Johnny Flynn perform a bedroom take on “Bottom of the Sea Blues” in May along with a live preview of “Einstein’s Idea” last spring, and now comes confirmation that both promising new tunes will appear on the follow-up to 2010’s Been Listening. Titled Country Mile, each song on the 10-track set was recorded not long after it was written, with Flynn, Adam Beach, and friends entering various studios over the years to put a cut’s early inspiration to tape. The record isn’t due until September 30th via Transgressive Records, but today brings a lovely first taste, “The Lady is Risen,” above.
